One Place Study: A Tool for Exploring the Past’ by Julie Muirhead

Julie will explain how she uses historical resources to research a place: its buildings, development, key events and its inhabitants. Using such records as newspapers, census data, maps and personal recollections, she will use St Mary Bourne as an example.

Julie is a professional genealogist and local historian with a special interest in the Poor Laws & crime. She holds a Higher Certificate in Genealogy from the Inst. of Heraldic & Genealogical Studies and is currently undertaking the Diploma in Genealogy.
