Following on from the last council meeting in July and from comments received the council instigated a safety check of the junction of Balksbury Hill and Foundry Road with Hampshire County Council (HCC). HCC have conducted a check and concluded as follows:

"We have visited the site and inspected the issue. Our inspection has shown that the issue reported does not meet our risk-based safety criteria which are aligned with the national Code of Practice. The case is closed."

As a result of this no further action in relation to the junction will be taken by HCC. Upper Clatford Parish Council will however continue to monitor the situation and endeavour to manage the hedge to aid better visibility. In the meantime the hedge has now been reduced by a further 18 inches and protruding foliage removed, all of which should improve visibility.
