Vacancy for Upper Clatford Parish Clerk and Responsible Financial Officer
Upper Clatford Parish is a rural community that includes Upper Clatford, Anna Valley and Red Rice, and which is supported by a Council of ten dedicated Councillors. The Parish Council meets on the second Wednesday of each month (less August) and has a Finance Committee budget meeting in November. We’re looking for someone who is able to work from home, and manage the Council’s day to day business, providing advice, and implementing decisions, including engaging and managing contractors as required.
Applicants will be required to prepare council agendas, record minutes, prepare and monitor budgets, and manage the Council’s website page, assets and finances.
Working hours are on average 10 hours per week, with potential to increase to 15 hours. Salary is in the range of £ 12 - £15 per hour, depending upon qualifications and experience.
Desirable attributes:
- know the Parish area reasonably well
- community focused with good stakeholder engagement skills
- experience of working as a Parish Clerk or Assistant Clerk (but training and support can be provided for anyone with the right basic skills)
- CiLCA qualification; however training is available if required.
- good IT skills including spreadsheets and websites
- book-keeping experience/experience of accounting packages
- the ability to work efficiently on their own initiative
